Dedicated Distribution, Kansas City, Kan., has signed a multi-year agreement with Temecula, Calif.-based Hudson RCI to act as the exclusive alternate-site wholesale distributor for respiratory supplies.

Bergen Brunswig Drug, Orange, Calif., has signed a seven-year exclusive contract with Longs Drug Stores, Walnut Creek, Calif., to provide pharmaceuticals, health and beauty aids, over-the-counter supplies and home medical equipment to Longs' 381 stores in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Oregon. Officials said they expect the deal to generate $900 million a year for Bergen.

Andros Inc., Berkeley, Calif., a manufacturer of anesthesia and related monitoring equipment, has acquired the medical division of Ceramatec Analytical, a Salt Lake City medical accessories manufacturer. The new company will operate under the name of Maxtec.

HBOC, Atlanta, now part of McKessonHBOC, San Francisco, has been selected by the Health Care Financing Administration to implement a portion of HBOC's automated clinical editing database, ClaimCheck, across the entire Medicare program. The agreement is designed to eliminate the cost of overpayment associated with incorrect or false claims, company officials said.
