Amerifed and HCAA Merge
Jacksonville, Fla.
The American Federation of HomeCare Providers and the Home Care Association of America - two associations that served the needs of home health agencies - merged in late December to form the American Home Care Association.
"For the good of the industry, it is important to unite, combine our resources and focus together on solving the new problems we face," said Ted Cuppett, former chairman of Amerifed.
The new organization, which will represent all HHAs, is based in Jacksonville and will maintain a Washington office. Carmen Johnston is executive director. Other officials are Scott Lara, director of governmental affairs, and Ann Howard, director of legislative affairs based in Washington. Debbie Johnston is the administrative assistant.
