The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued a program memorandum to its durable medical equipment regional carriers on tracking and reporting Advance Determination of Medicare Coverage for certain customized power wheelchairs.

Effective Oct. 1, the DMERCs will report to CMS the number of ADMCs they receive for certain customized power wheelchairs, how many of those requests are accepted or denied, how many requests are still pending, and the quantity of aged requests, more than 90 days old.
