David Miller New Med Group Chairman

Lubbock, Texas -- David Miller, president and chief executive officer of The Med Group, is relinquishing his role as president of the group purchasing organization and assuming the role of chairman of the board. He will continue as CEO.

Bill Miller, no relation to David Miller, will become president. He was formerly vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Americo Bancshares of Lubbock and Austin, Texas.

"By stepping up to the chairman position and maintaining the CEO role, it gives us some real stability," David Miller said. "And with Bill Miller coming on, with his expertise internally from the business point of view, he's really going to add a great flavor to the inside of our operation."

He said the move also will allow him to become more involved in customer relations, do more public speaking at state association meetings and spend more time with group members and others in the home medical equipment industry.

"I believe that because of the nature of our company, I have the opportunity to get the global perspective on our industry, kind of a macro view," Miller said. "I do look forward to working with Tom Connaughton [American Association for Homecare president] and the state associations and, through a servant leadership position, really building a true coalition in the industry where as we seek to unify the industry and strengthen our voice, we can truly pull some people together to accomplish that purpose."
