Federal Bills Target Home Care Fraud
Washington Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has introduced a pair of bills targeting fraud among home health agencies and home medical equipment providers.
The Home Health Integrity Preservation Act (S.255) would increase screening and scrutiny of home health agencies, administrators and employees.
The Medicare Universal Product Number Act (S.256) would require providers to submit identification numbers for all HME items that beneficiaries receive.
Both bills were referred to the Senate Finance Committee.-K.G.
