NAMPS Moves Ahead With HME Licensure Legislation
Boulder City, Nev.
By April 1, 2001, all home medical equipment providers in Nevada will have to be licensed by the state in order to bill state Medicaid or federal Medicare for HME.
The membership of the Nevada Association of Medical Products Suppliers has been working for licensure with the Nevada Board of Pharmacy for several months in drafting licensure legislation and needed approval by the board for state HME providers to fall under board authority. Applications for licensure have been or are being sent to all Nevada durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies providers. Should a provider not receive an application by the end of this month, providers should contact NAMPS at 702/294-6680 or the Nevada Board of Pharmacy at 775/850-1440.
