John Harland was named chief financial officer of Medpool.com. Before joining Medpool, Harland was vice president and CFO of Biometric Imaging, a cell-analysis diagnostic company.
W.B. Mick is the new director of the national rehabilitation network for Lubbock, Texas-based The Med Group. Mick is responsible for the network's member services, marketing and continuing education.
The Med Group also announced several new members of its independent purchasing network: Richard Parker of Decatur, Ga.-based Parker Medical; Bill Clarke of Bluefield, W.Va.-based Med-Response; Matt Welborn of Fort Worth, Texas-based Electric 3 Wheelers; Robert Kirby of Care Home Medical, Staunton, Va.; Mario LaCute of Seeley Medical, Andover, Ohio; and Mel Elliott of Carolina Mobility & Seating, Apex, N.C.
Michael Martin is medibuy.com's new chief operating officer. Martin, formerly an executive vice president at Premier, an alliance of not-for-profit hospital and health care systems, is responsible for medibuy.com's overall operations, including corporate account strategies, buyer advocacy programs and international expansion.
Thomas Stribling and Donald Weber have joined Marietta, Ga.-based Matria Healthcare's board of directors. Stribling is a former president and chief executive officer of pharmaceutical company Scandipharm. Weber was president and CEO of satellite entertainment company Viewstar Entertainment Services.
Doug Stone was named chief operating officer of Denison, Texas-based Horizon Pharmacies. Stone will be responsible for improving gross margins, reducing operating expenses and improving productivity on Horizon's current brick-and-mortar operational agenda.
Alan Levy is the new vice president and chief financial officer of Lake Success, N.Y.-based Staff Builders. Levy was most recently treasurer and chief accounting officer of Internet service provider Globix. He replaces Joseph Murphy.
Lewis Visscher has been named chief financial officer of Boulder, Colo.-based Productbuzz. Visscher, formerly CFO of software company Insession, will oversee execution of Productbuzz's strategic business model.
James Barraza is the new president, director and chief executive officer of Auxi Health, Nashville, Tenn. Barraza previously served as Auxi's senior vice president of operations. Also, David Steinglass and Gerry McCranie were elected board members.
