Mobility Manufacturer Forms Power Wheelchair Rehabilitation Division Exeter, Pa. Pride Mobility Products is expanding its scope into the rehabilitation market with the launch of its power rehab division, Quantum Rehab.

The new division will encompass the high-end aspects of select Jazzy power chair models, Quantum power chairs and future high-end power chair base and accessory developments, officials said. It will focus on providing high-end rehab accessory solutions and specific power bases and will feature a staff that includes clinicians and rehab technical specialists who will extend provider services such as product training, technical service and educational support, officials said.

"Over the past few years, Pride has learned that to serve the rehab market in an outstanding manner requires tremendous know-how, focus and commitment," said Scott Meuser, chairman and chief executive officer. "We intend to build Quantum Rehab into a very dynamic business unit focused on listening to rehab professionals and creating exciting next-generation power rehab solutions."

Meuser said the new division will also offer rehab providers a variety of services designed to help build their businesses and better serve their customers.

Added Dan Meuser, Pride's senior vice president of sales and marketing, "Quantum Rehab ... enables us to offer rehab providers and rehab professionals as a whole a rehab division dedicated solely to customizing special-order requests and providing immediate information and solutions regarding product, seating and electronic options, technical service, availability and lead times, quotes and rehab reimbursement issues-in addition to facilitating these services with great efficiency. Also, Pride's present field rehab specialists will have an even further-defined focus."

The company plans to transition all relevant provider materials to Quantum Rehab during the next few months. Pride's field rehab specialists will join the rehab division, and the company intends to hire additional rehab specialists for the Quantum Rehab sales force.
