Simione Central Adopts New Identity

Atlanta

CareCentric, formerly Simione Central Holdings, is banking that its new moniker will focus attention on its home medical equipment and home health agency offerings as a whole, rather than splinter it among the six companies that have merged to make up the software systems vendor.

The new name — which comes with a new Nasdaq ticker symbol, CURA — was chosen to reflect the company's efforts to help customers stay “centered” on care. The company has also adopted a new tagline, “Achieve Your Potential.”

“This is a very exciting culmination of several years' work and effort to create a company capable of addressing the information technology and process improvement needs required by the home health care market today and in the future,” said Bruce Dewey, chief executive officer and president. “CareCentric is formed from six companies [that] have been pioneering market-leading software products and services for more than 30 years that help our customers be ‘centered’ on care.

“A new name gives us the opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to all segments of the home care market and to communicate our uniqueness,” he said. “It allows us to move beyond an emphasis on our different parts and focus on our more important mission and values as a whole.”

CareCentric is composed of Simione, Central Health, CareCentric, MCS/MestaMed, Dezine and InfoMed.
