Carlstadt, N.J. Pritpal Virdee, president and chief operating officer of Infu-Tech Inc., has resigned, company officials said. A successor has not been named.

Virdee "played an important role in the evolution of Infu-Tech over the last five years," said Jack Rosen, chairman and chief executive. But with the establishment of its Smartmeds.com Web site, the company in the last year has shifted its focus away from the traditional business model and is now concentrating more heavily on Internet business. "I think new leadership more attuned to the world of e-commerce is now needed as the company changes its business model," Rosen said. -S.H.
