Walgreens Enters Home Care Business in New Mexico
Deerfield, Ill. -- In a move to further expand its presence in the home health care industry, Walgreens Health Initiatives has acquired selected assets of the home care operations of St. Vincent Hospital, Santa Fe, N.M. St. Vincent offers respiratory services and equipment. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"This acquisition fits appropriately into our ongoing strategy of acquiring quality home care businesses with local presence and relationships," said Ron Allen, vice president of Walgreens home care services. The acquisition is Walgreens' first hospital-based operation. The company also has home care businesses in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
