Fort Worth, Texas -- Welcon Inc. has acquired Toledo, Ohio-based Owens-Illinois' Entracare enteral pump and device product line. Welcon officials said all employees will be retained. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"The acquisition is a significant event, not just for Welcon but for Welcon's distribution network as well," Welcon president John Frey said. "Welcon has been serving the enteral flushing needs of the long-term care and hospital markets for over 30 years. We now offer a complete program for enteral feeding delivery, allowing our distributors a one-stop shop."
Founded in 1969, Welcon is a provider of enteral irrigation devices. The company's manufacturing, assembly, packaging and sterilization are primarily based in Providence, R.I.
