Rotech to Expand Managed Care Business

ORLANDO, Fla.--Rotech Healthcare has announced that it will be putting more resources into developing the company's managed care business.

The announcement came as part of a strategic plan released last week, which explained that the company "expects to grow [this part] of the business at a higher rate than its Medicare business."

Rotech also said it would pursue small acquisitions and expand its base of respiratory therapists. It also has restructured its sales force of about 400 employees to commit "more time to selling and less time to hiring and training new employees," the company said.

Rotech provides equipment in 48 states through approximately 500 branches located principally in non-urban markets.
