CMS Seeks Comments on Rebid of Competitive Bidding Project
ARLINGTON, Va.--A slightly modified version of the Request for Bids instructions and accompanying forms will be published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services when a rebidding of round one of competitive bidding occurs, the American Association for Homecare reported Wednesday.
A notice of request for comments regarding the rebid of round one of the DMEPOS competitive bidding program and the disclosure of subcontracting relationships appeared Tuesday in the Federal Register. HME stakeholders have until 5 p.m. June 18 to submit comments.
According to the Federal Register, CMS has modified the format of some of these documents to help ease the burden of bid submission. It will also require providers who receive a contract to provide the agency with information on contract supplier subcontracting relationships. If providers choose to enter into a contract with CMS and use a subcontractor to furnish items and services, the provider would be required to disclose information about each subcontracting arrangement, as well as data proving the subcontractor meets accreditation requirements.
