HealthEdge appoints new COO
BURLINGTON, Mass., Aug. 7, 2012—HealthEdge, provider of the only modern, enterprise-class software platform for healthcare payors, announces that Dan Welch has been named chief operating officer. Bringing more than 30 years of experience to the role, Welch will oversee all company operations, ensuring customers continue to receive the best products and services in the healthcare payor IT marketplace.
HealthRules is the market’s premier platform for claim processing and benefit administration, business intelligence, and portals, designed to enable payors to participate in the new healthcare economy. The company’s growth has been driven by market changes that require healthcare payors to upgrade from their old, legacy-based software to a modern technology platform.

Welch acquired an interdisciplinary skill set and multinational experience through senior leadership positions in consulting services, engineering, product management and sales during his three decades in the software industry. “I look forward to helping HealthEdge grow in a smart and effective manner while maintaining its unique entrepreneurial culture,” Welch said. “The healthcare market is undergoing a new wave of technology adoption, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
Prior to joining HealthEdge he was senior vice president of operations at Mitratech Holdings, Inc., where he was an integral part of a turnaround executive team that restored the company to profitability. Before Mitratech, Welch was senior vice president, client services, for Callidus Software, where he built the company’s client services business from scratch. Welch also served as senior vice president of EMEA operations at Callidus, including oversight of a development team based in Italy. He attended Michigan Technological University and is a graduate of Michigan State University.
