McClellan Joins Think Tank
WASHINGTON--Former CMS Administrator Mark McClellan will join the American Enterprise Institute-Brookings Institution Joint Center for Regulatory Studies to work on ideas to improve the nation's health care.
As a visiting senior fellow, McClellan will focus on ways to eliminate excess health care costs through safe and effective new treatments and payment and regulatory system reforms. He will remain a professor of economics and an associate professor of medicine at Stanford University, from which he is on leave.
McClellan resigned as CMS administrator Oct. 14. CMS Deputy Administrator Leslie Norwalk has assumed duties as acting administrator (see HomeCare Monday, Oct. 2).
