ATLANTA (Sept. 2, 2014)—The last time Diana Guth, RRT, went to Medtrade, the owner of Los Angeles-based Home Respiratory Care found a product that helped her generate valuable new revenue. As an HME veteran, Guth goes to Medtrade to identify new products that help her stay above water in a challenging reimbursement environment.

“At the last Medtrade,” she says, “I did find something excellent outside of competitive bidding, but I won’t say what it is [laughs] because I don’t want anyone else selling it. If you don’t go to Medtrade, you can’t find these products.”

HME providers looking for the latest products, ideas and inspiration will be joining Guth at this year’s Medtrade, scheduled for Oct. 20-23, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

“Medtrade is the absolute best place to find solutions in this tough new HME world,” says Jim Greatorex, owner, Black Bear Medical, Portland, Maine. “Where else can you find new and alternative product offerings to offset lost revenue, plus get the opportunity to hear great speakers? We all need solutions right now. Atlanta in October is where the best answers can be found.”

Many new products will once again by vying for the Innovative HME Retail Product Awards, sponsored by HomeCare magazine and designed to honor HME products that are particularly suited for retail sale.

The purpose of the competition is to promote and recognize products that contribute to providers' bottom lines though cash sales. Attendees at this year’s Medtrade can view the winners, and all entries, in a special section of the New Product Showcase on the Expo floor at the Georgia World Congress Center.

A retail panel discussion—The Best New Retail/Cash Opportunities—will show and discuss the winners as part of the 6-4-18 sessions (six building blocks for success in the next eighteen months). The session, which is open to all attendees, is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m.
