NASHVILLE (July 22, 2014)—National Seating & Mobility (NSM) today announced the appointment of William C. (Bill) Mixon as President.

Mixon has 24 years of experience in the health care and professional services industries and more than a decade of experience in general management, president and CEO roles. He most recently served as President of Universal Hospital Services (UHS), the largest provider of clinically focused asset management solutions and services involving mobile medical technology to the U.S. health care industry.

Mixon also served in executive level positions with Philips Medical Systems and U.S. Investigation Services. During his 11 years at Philips, he held positions of increasing responsibility across commercial, customer service and general management roles. Mixon managed Philips’ North American service and installation businesses, consisting of nine functional business units with 3,500 employees and more than $1 billion in revenue. He was responsible for developing the North American service plan and establishing strategic initiatives to drive field operations productivity and achieve business results. Prior to Philips, Mixon held leadership roles at Baxter and American Hospital Supply Co.

Mixon, a Virginia native, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Georgetown University, a Masters of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary and a Masters of Science in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army for five years, in a variety of leadership capacities.
