States accelerate Accountable Care Organization design for Medicaid

WASHINGTON, July 21, 2012—The Center for Health Care Strategies Inc., a nonprofit health policy resource group, is working with seven states—Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas and Vermont—to accelerate design and implementation of Accountable Care Organizations for Medicaid providers and beneficiaries. The effort is being funded by the Commonwealth Fund and the Massachusetts Medicaid Policy Institute, a program of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation.
