OWINGS MILLS, Md. (July 6, 2017)—The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) is pleased to announce Harry “J.R.” Brandt, BOCO, CO, LO as the inaugural recipient of the Jim Newberry Award for Extraordinary Service. In making the announcement, BOC Board Chair L. Bradley “Brad” Watson, BOCO, BOCP, LPO commented that Brandt is a highly respected practitioner and orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) advocate, and has played a significant role in BOC’s growth and success.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (May 4, 2017)—The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) is pleased to announce it is moving to a 44 percent larger space, transitioning from a 3,600 square foot office to a larger 5,183 square foot office space to accommodate continued growth. As part of the transition, BOC will be closed beginning Thursday, June 1 and reopening Tuesday, June 6. The new address, effective June 6, 2017, is 10461 Mill Run Circle, Suite 1250, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (May 4, 2016)—The Board of Certification/Accreditation’s (BOC) Board of Directors recently approved a plan to sunset the acceptance of new applications for its orthotist (BOCO), prosthetist (BOCP) and pedorthist (BOCPD) certifications. The decision will lead to greater growth opportunities for the organization and streamline the professions’ credentialing options.

OWINGS MILLS, MD (March 24, 2016)—Arkansas is the latest state to recognize Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) examinations for licensure of providers in the orthotic, prosthetic and pedorthic (OPP) professions. The rule change was made by the Arkansas Department of Health in January, 2016, following a recommendation from the Arkansas Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics Advisory Board, and will be effective March 1.

(November 4, 2015)—Last week, the Board of Certification/Accreditation’s President & CEO, Claudia Zacharias, MBA, CAE, assumed leadership as Board Chair of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) Board of Directors. The announcement was made at the ICE Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon and a ceremonial gavel was passed to the newly elected Chair.
