MIAMI, Florida—AccentCare, a nationwide provider of home health, hospice and personal care services, announced the opening of a new inpatient hospice center in Miami, Florida. Expanding its footprint in south Florida, AccentCare’s new facility aims to address the region’s diverse population and growing need for greater access to personal and high-quality hospice care.
“We are thrilled to expand our presence in the Miami area, offering compassionate and personalized hospice care for more patients and their families in Florida’s diverse communities,” said Andy Johnston, president of hospice and personal care services, AccentCare. “This facility builds on our mission to provide quality care and support patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs through their end-of-life journey.”
AccentCare’s new 30,000-square-foot hospice center offers a range of services, including nursing care, pastoral care, medical social work, respite services, 24-hour critical home care and bereavement support for families. Patients have daily access to the organization’s interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, spiritual care providers, social workers and volunteers, as well as therapeutic programs, including music therapy, companionship support and other legacy programs to comfort and commemorate loved ones. AccentCare also honors veteran patients through its “We Honor Veterans” initiative and is a platinum-certified SAGECare provider, training its teams in culturally appropriate and LGBTQIA+ inclusive hospice care.
“As the southern part of the country continues to grow, the need for hospice care becomes increasingly critical,” said Pedro Del Campo, executive director, AccentCare. “Our enhanced capacity to accept more acutely ill patients offers our partner hospitals a vital discharge alternative, ensuring patients receive the support, dignity and comfort they need during end-of-life care."
AccentCare's Miami-Kendall hospice center marks the company's fourth facility in the area, joining existing facilities at Memorial Regional Hospital South in Broward, Fla., North Shore Medical Center in Miami, Fla. and Miami Jewish Health Systems in Miami, Fla. Across Miami-Dade and Broward counties, AccentCare employs 400 trained professionals, delivering care to more than 1,100 hospice patients each day.
