OLD FORGE, Pa. — Golden Technologies has once again landed contracts to supply personal mobility scooters to the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, the company announced March 21. The contracts, which could be extended for five years, are valued at $65 million.
Golden was originally awarded scooter contracts by the VA in 2003 that were extended through December 2010, according to Richard Golden, CEO.
In a release, he said the company hoped the VA would choose the new version of its Companion scooters. "And they did," said Golden, "not just one model, but all three models for three categories of scooter contracts based on the end-user's needs."
The three categories are mid-size three-wheel, full-size three wheel and full-size four wheel.
