WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 15, 2020)—On March 30, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued an interim final rule with comment (IFC) that provides relief from regulations governing health care provider operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) conducted a national webcast presenting the regulatory waivers that had been issued up to that point to over 3,000 participants. Many of the waivers for home health agencies (HHAs) were issued sub-regulatory prior to the issuance of the IFC rule.
During the web cast NAHC representatives were able to address several questions submitted by the participants. However, those questions represented only a fraction of the total questions that were received during the web cast.
NAHC has completed three sets of frequently asked questions and answers (FAQs) on the topics of:
- telehealth,
- non-physician practitioners (NPPs) certifying and ordering home health services, and
- waivers on the Conditions of Participation.
We encourage you to view those FAQs now.
