RICHMOND, Virginia—The Bon Secours Home Care and Hospice programs, which serves the greater Richmond area, announced a new name: Bon Secours Home Care and Hospice by Compassus. The name change reflects a joint venture partnership between Bon Secours Mercy Health, a Catholic health system in the U.S., and Compassus, a national provider of integrated home-based health care services, which was finalized earlier this year.
In addition to the Richmond, Virginia, locations, Bon Secours Home Care and Hospice provides care in the Hampton Roads region, with locations in Newport News, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. These additional locations will be rebranded and managed as part of the joint venture partnership.
Patients and families will continue to receive the same high-quality, compassionate care from the team members they know and trust, the company said. The partnership with Compassus aims to add a new level of support for Bon Secours patients’ ongoing journeys across the care continuum.
“Bon Secours has a proud legacy of providing high-quality home health and hospice care to patients in the Hampton Roads region,” said Jenni Thompson, hospice area executive of clinical operations at Bon Secours Hospice by Compassus. “Our partnership with Compassus allows for expanded support in delivering home health and hospice care at the right time in alignment with patient goals and well-being. While our name is changing, our high standards for quality care are not, and we look forward to continuing to serve patients and families in the community.”
