CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 2, 2015)—BSN Medical is celebrating two decades of its BSN-JOBST research grant in venous and lymphatic diseases. The 2015 Grant recipient is Andrew S. Kimball, M.D., resident surgeon at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Kimball will investigate the mechanisms of venous thrombus resolution under the guidance and mentorship of Peter Henke, M.D., past president of the American Venous Forum (AVF).
The BSN-JOBST Research Grant, which was presented to Dr. Kimball at the AVF 27th Annual Meeting in Palm Springs, California, has increased from a $50,000 annual grant to $100,000. BSN medical’s contribution this year brings the company’s total donations to just over $1 million.

In 1995, BSN Medical, in association with the AVF, initiated the BSN-JOBST research grant to further Conrad Jobst’s legacy of innovation. The fellowship is designed to provide a foundation of research to build on future work and grants for mentored and independent research. Recipients are asked to submit a one-year update and present a progress report to the AVF membership at its Annual Meeting.

The selection for the recipient of the BSN-JOBST research grant is performed through a competitive peer review process.
