DAVISON, Mich., (August 26, 2019)—Universal Software Solutions, Inc. (Universal), a provider of practice management solutions for the home health care and pharmacy infusion/specialty markets, officially announced Essity as the latest distributor to establish a certified connection with its VendorLink electronic ordering and patient dropship solution.
VendorLink, a companion application to Universal’s core application HDMS, provides a secured and dedicated electronic process for all purchase orders and patient drop shipments of product to a large number of distributors across the country. VendorLink brings further efficiencies to the users of HDMS by accepting and processing various electronic data interchange (EDI) files as part of the data exchange of information, including shipping confirmation information, to execute the automation of order confirmation and the hands-free billing of insurance claims.
Essity, formerly BSN medical, is a provider of wound care and related vascular diseases, lymphology and non-invasive orthopedic products. Essity aims to provide an integrated therapy-driven approach—grounded in a broad portfolio of products, enhanced by insights into current therapeutic areas and complemented by a progressive approach to partnerships. JOBST aims to improve the quality of life for those suffering from venous and lymphatic diseases. It provides a number of compression garments designed to offer highly effective, therapeutic compression for the management of diseases including varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis, chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral edema and lymphedema. This includes the extensive JOBST product range, which comprises ready-to-wear, custom-fit, circular-knit and flat-knit garments for the upper and lower limbs.
“The operational efficiencies a partnership like this improves is a win-win for all parties. The new capabilities offered make doing business with JOBST streamlined, more profitable for our dealer network, and more accessible for the patient and consumer. In conjunction with our product innovation and No. 1 physician recommended brand, utilizing this new program will be a strong value add to any business,” said Brady Hoane, regional sales manager at Essity.
VendorLink provides for the secured and dedicated point-to-point connection with each distributor. HDMS, together with VendorLink provides automation for home medical equipment suppliers, along with both open and closed-door pharmacies. Inventory and stock no longer need to be shipped to the provider and stored only to be shipped out at a later date. Warehousing and holding the inventory is managed all by the distributors, such as Essity.
"When our clients use the HDMS Outreach Services for patient resupply of products, together with our Vendorlink solution, it creates a fully automated process from outreach to billing for a ‘no-touch’ operation. That is a big game-changer for a number of providers that see reductions in reimbursements across product lines and therapies,” said Christopher Dobiesz, president of Universal Software Solutions, Inc.
