CONWAY, Arkansas—Brandon Phipps, owner of HomeWell Care Services in Conway, Arkansas, has been recognized as a “Franchise Rockstar” by Franchise Business Review (FBR) in the ‘Veterans’ category. Phipps was selected from hundreds of nominations based on his dedication to supporting local veterans and his agency’s performance over the past year.
“Upon learning about this award, my thoughts turned to the many individuals and families we have had the privilege of supporting throughout our communities,” said Phipps. “My heart is filled with gratitude for our exceptional staff, whose thoughtfulness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to our shared mission have been crucial to our success. This award belongs to our entire team—a recognition of the meaningful impact we have achieved together through collaboration and service.”
Phipps attributes his agency’s progress to his team’s relentless pursuit of improvement, both in maintaining service standards and individually as care professionals. “Our dedicated staff members actively seek opportunities for growth and development every week. Our commitment to lifelong learning allows us to build upon our strong foundation and continually refine our practices to deliver an unparalleled care experience tailored to each client.”
Phipps has also expanded his VA outreach and marketing efforts. From the first quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2024, his business grew 164%.
Beyond the numbers, Phipps’s impact extends into his community as he mentors fellow veterans. He leverages his experiences as a soldier and his transition to life as a civilian to connect with clients who have served.
Leading up to Phipps’s reception of the award, Debbie Simpson, his franchise business consultant at HomeWell, was adamant that he should be nominated for FBR’s veteran recognition.
“It’s rewarding to see how he has transitioned from serving his country to now serving his community,” said Simpson. “Brandon Phipps continually reminds us of what homecare is all about—the people. He is certainly a ‘franchise rockstar’ and more than that—an exceptional human being who cares deeply about veterans and other seniors who need support to live independently at home.”
From 2007 to 2011, Phipps served in the Army as an Infantryman, joining the Ranger Indoctrination Program and eventually serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was deployed to Afghanistan for one year in August 2009. After the Army, he worked in the oil industry and pursued higher education, receiving an MBA, which he later used when he started his HomeWell Care Services franchise in 2021.
“There are so many stories of inspiring franchise owners who are living their dreams of successful business ownership, with each franchisee bringing unique abilities, values and skills to their franchise brand,” said Eric Stites, founder & CEO of Franchise Business Review. “We’ve seen that most successful franchise owners demonstrate an incredibly strong work ethic, a deep passion for their businesses and a real commitment to their communities. Our Rock Star Awards are for those who truly go above and beyond in some special way. These individuals are truly assets to their company—and their passion resonates throughout the entire brand.”
