WATERLOO, Iowa (June 24, 2015)—HME veteran and retail expert Jim Greatorex, formerly of Maine’s Black Bear Medical, has joined VGM Group Inc.’s Retail Services group. He will focus on finding new products to enhance retail sales in retail operations, and working with VGM Members to build or improve their retail business.
Greatorex started Black Bear Medical in 1988. It grew to three stores and 37 employees in Maine and New Hampshire until sold earlier this year. He is a past president of NEMED, and has actively lobbied for the HME industry in Washington, D.C. He has more than 20 years of HME retail experience, and is a popular speaker on that topic.
“Retail in the HME space is not solely about selling traditional HME products for cash. Jim understands, after years of putting this into practice, that success comes from a unique product mix that appeals to the consumer.
