Ohio-based senior living & home health taps into Medline's extensive portfolio after 30-plus years with previous supplier

NORTHFIELD, Illinois—Medline announced it has entered into a multi-year Prime Vendor distribution agreement with O'Neill Healthcare, a family-owned provider of senior care services in Ohio. Medline will be the primary supplier for O'Neill Healthcare's post-acute care business, spanning six skilled nursing buildings and additional home health, hospice care and home medical equipment (HME) operations.

As part of the agreement, Medline will provide O'Neill Healthcare with an extensive portfolio of medical-surgical supplies with a focus on skin health, including incontinence products like Medline's FitRight Stretch Ultra Briefs, as well as solutions to advance wound healing. Medline's distribution center in West Jefferson, Ohio will service O'Neill Healthcare, providing the supplies it needs across the continuum of senior care.

Since 1962, O'Neill Healthcare has operated as a family business, owning and managing senior communities and providing comprehensive care in the greater Cleveland area. The company has more than 900 employees across six locations.

"We don't change vendors frequently and value loyalty with our vendors," said David O'Neill, O'Neill Healthcare's director of operations. "We are excited to partner with Medline and are looking at the company to help us enhance consistency and efficiency in our processes across all areas of operation. It is important that we streamline operations while finding new ways to support our staff in their everyday tasks."

After being with a previous vendor for more than 30 years, O'Neill Healthcare will work with Medline to improve clinical standardization around skin health. Medline's Skin Health Solution, supported with targeted programs and product in-servicing through Medline's team of clinicians, incorporates best practice guidelines, products and clinical solutions to empower staff.

"We are thrilled to formalize the Prime Vendor agreement, marking an exciting new chapter of collaboration," said Bobby Brandenstein, post-acute care division manager, Medline. "There is a shared sense of purpose in our relationship. Our team is focused on working directly and being on-site with O'Neill Healthcare at their facilities to identify and solve challenges with clinical, financial and operational solutions."
