WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 1, 2017)—The Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday voted to send Rep. Tom Price’s (R-Ga.) nomination to head the Department of Health and Human Services to the full Senate for a confirmation vote.
Democrats on the committee tried to again block the vote by boycotting the meeting, but Republicans changed the rules requiring that at least one Democrat be present for quorum. The Republican members of the committee then approved Price’s nomination by a 14-0 vote.
