MINNEAPOLIS (November 1, 2019)—Transcend, a provider of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) technology, announced the immediate availability of Transcend 365 miniCPAP, a CPAP and integrated heated humidifier capable of running on a single, travel-size battery
Transcend introduces patented Capillary Force Vaporizer Technology (CFV) as an alternative to pass-over heated humidification, delivering a smaller and more efficient humidification system to the CPAP market. Unlike traditional CPAP humidifiers that must heat water in a reservoir to humidify a constant airflow, the new Transcend 365 humidifier instantly vaporizes water using an internal element and delivers humidification to the patient during inhalation, resting during exhalation. This preserves water and power and provides humidified air from the first breath. The result is a small, highly efficient system that delivers a full night of comfortable humidification and CPAP therapy that can be powered by a single travel-size battery. The responsive inspiratory-only humidifier also eliminates “rainout,” a common effect of excessive humidification by which condensation collects in the CPAP mask and hose.
Clarence Johnson, Somnetics CEO said, “This technology is unlike anything seen in CPAP before. It will be a game changer for sleep apnea patients with active lives and who have been unable to rely on their CPAP and humidifier in travel situations when main power is not available or during power outages. The small size, complete feature set, and compatibility with any CPAP mask and hose makes the Transcend 365 a great option for both use at home and when traveling.”
The Transcend 365 miniCPAP and heated humidifier is about half the size of a traditional CPAP and heated humidifier, and the system can be powered by a travel-size battery for use 365 days a year, making it the preferred choice for travel as well as use at home.
James, a Transcend 365 miniCPAP customer, says, “I really like your new device and wish I would have bought it sooner! It’s better for my motorcycle rides and takes up less space with my travel gear.”
