Apria Healthcare Group Inc. of Lake Forest, Calif., last week announced that it will operate its two business units—Apria Healthcare Inc. and Coram Inc.—more autonomously and has appointed separate chief executive officers for each.

Daniel J. Starck will join the company on April 16 as CEO of Apria Healthcare Inc., the respiratory therapy/home medical equipment operating unit.

Daniel E. Greenleaf, who served in a dual role as Apria Healthcare Inc.’s chief operating officer and Coram Inc.’s president and chief operating officer for the past 16 months, will become CEO of the Coram Inc. Specialty Infusion Services operating unit.

Dr. Norman C. Payson will continue to serve as CEO and executive chairman of Apria Healthcare Group Inc. He will provide strategic oversight to both units, and Starck and Greenleaf will report to him.

For the past five years, Starck served as chief executive officer of CorVel Corp., an Orange County, Calif.-based, national provider of workers’ compensation solutions for employers, third party administrators, insurance companies and government agencies seeking to control costs and promote positive outcomes.
