MANCHESTER, Tennessee—Repair Authority announced today that it has acquired Pitcock Biomedical, a Manchester, Tennessee-based home medical equipment (HME) repair provider. This deal expands Repair Authority’s ability to provide repair services of stationary and portable oxygen concentrators, CPAPs, ventilators, home fill devices and other respiratory equipment in the Southeast U.S. and beyond.

RALEIGH, North Carolina—United States Attorney Michael Easley announced that Joint Active Systems, Inc. (JAS), a manufacturer of range-of-motion devices located in Effingham, Illinois, has agreed to pay $500,000 to settle civil claims under the federal and North Carolina False Claims Acts concerning allegations that JAS caused submission of false claims to the North Carolina Medicaid program for certain durable medical equipment (DME).

WASHINGTON—The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has added 10 HCPCS codes to the list of those that require face-to-face encounter and a written order, bringing the total up to 63 codes, according to VGM Government Relations.

(MGC). ERLANGER, Kentucky—Adaptive Imports has a new president and clinical director: Melissa “Missy” Tally.

Tally will oversee the United States sales and distribution of complex rehabilitation equipment brands including: Jenx, Hoggi, Krabat, SafeSpaces and HeadOvations. She will will focus on support for Adaptive Imports’ national team of independent sales representatives, customers, assistive technology professionals (ATPs), clinicians and referral sources.
