Invacare Acquires Infusion Therapy Distributor

Elyria, Ohio

Invacare has acquired the assets of ACS, a Deer Park, N.Y.-based division of Mediq PRN Life Support Services, which distributes medical supplies with a focus on infusion therapy. ACS will be combined with Invacare Supply Group's current distribution business, headquartered in Holliston, Mass., and ACS' sales and customer service personnel will be employed by ISG. The company's distribution system will be consolidated into ISG over the next several months.

ResMed Launches Sleep Apnea Web Site

San Diego

ResMed has launched www.myresmed.com, a sleep-apnea treatment support Web site for people who use positive airway pressure devices.

“MYResMed provides a free service to help dealers and sleep clinicians orient, educate and support new CPAP users. That's the way to help patients have a successful future,” said Ron Richard, ResMed vice president of marketing, Americas.

Derma Acquires K-C Wound Care Assets

Princeton, N.J.

Derma Sciences, a manufacturer of wound and skin care products, has acquired Dallas-based Kimberly-Clark's wound care assets for $2.6 million. Edward Quilty, president and CEO of Derma Sciences, said the company plans to convert the Kimberly-Clark branded products to the Derma brand name over the next 12 months.

VMI Acquires Ricon Corp. Personal Division

Phoenix

Vehicle accessibility-products manufacturer VMI (Vantage Mobility International) has purchased the Personal Division of Los Angeles-based Ricon Corp., including the company's platform lift and adaptive accessories product lines. According to VMI, the addition will complement its existing specialties in lowered-floor mini-vans, lowered-floor full-size vans and stowage lifts.

Zevex Divests Physical Evaluation Business

Salt Lake City

Zevex, whose therapeutics division markets enteral nutrition delivery devices, has completed the sale of its physical evaluation business division to Leonard C. Smith, a former employee, officer and director. According to David McNally, Zevex chairman and CEO, “Divesting our physical evaluation business is the result of a strategic decision to focus on our core businesses of applied technology and therapeutics.”
