Fortune has ranked The Scooter Store No. 38 on its list of the top 100 places to work in America. Citing the giant power wheelchair provider's employee-friendly celebrations such as quarterly theme rallies and recognition of birthdays and anniversaries, the magazine was also impressed that 40 percent of its employee-owners are salespeople who earn commissions based on their performance.
The Scooter Store also made the list in 2004 at No. 58, recognized for its morning "huddles" for managers and employees to discuss each day's goals.
No. 1 on the Fortune list for 2010? Business analytics software company SAS, New York, which boasts a "laundry list of benefits," according to the magazine.
