LAKE WALES, Fla. (March 5, 2014)—3B/BMC, announced the integration of voice recognition and patient auto-dialing within iCodeConnect, 3B Medical's cloud based patient management portal. Obtaining sleep compliance data for reimbursement is a major challenge for DME providers. Modems create costs and logistical problems in the inventory and movement of modems. SD Cards also are not ideal as they require physically transporting the SD card. 3B Medical's iCode is the solution. The Sleep data is encoded in a 16-digit number, similar to that a credit card number. Allowing the patient to convey the numbers effortlessly by phone, text, email or smartphone app. 3B Medical announced the incorporation of telephony functionality, with voice recognition, into iCodeConnect. During patient set-up, the DME can select the Auto-Dial option for the patient. At scheduled times, iCodeConnect will automatically call the patient and walk them through retrieving their iCode. The iCode string can be entered by the patient using their number pad on the phone or by voice recognition. The iCodeConnect will routinely call and collect patient data directly from the patient and the iCodeConnect patient portal will auto-populate with necessary compliance data. Incorporating automated telephony and voice recognition into iCodeConnect is as close as one can get to approximating the functionality of a modem in terms of automatically populating a patient database with compliance data with no effort. More importantly, this is accomplished without the cost of a modem, without the cost of a data service plan and without the hidden cost of physically moving modems. Visit 3bproducts.com.
