Organization hopes the impact survey data will bolster its push for 75/25 relief

WASHINGTON—In early July, the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) launched a nationwide survey on the impact of the expired Medicare fee-for-service 75/25 blended rate for non-bid/non-rural areas on the HME community and Medicare patients’ access to medically necessary equipment.

Early response has been strong, AAHomecare said, but input from more suppliers will lend additional credibility to the survey and help policymakers understand the impact of these substantial cuts and the urgency to provide relief by resuming the 75/25 rates that were rescinded on Jan. 1, 2024.

AAHomecare encouraged HME industry professionals take the survey here by July 19, and encourage other suppliers to join in.

All data supplied will only be shared in aggregate as state and national figures. Company-specific or identifiable information is strictly confidential and will not be shared. Contact Stephanie Legree at stephaniel@aahomecare.org with any questions.

Raising the Volume on 75/25 Relief

"Insights from the survey will help our champions on Capitol Hill, our lobbying team, and HME advocacy leaders make a stronger case for legislative action to reinstate the 75/25 rates before the end of the congressional session—and we need a strong grassroots push in the coming months from you to raise the volume and demonstrate the urgency for relief," AAHomecare said in a press release.

After completing the survey, AAHomecare encourages HME advocates take the opportunity to share those same impacts directly with their senators and representatives.

"Whether you’re following up on an earlier contact or reaching out for the first time, let your legislators know your pain points and ask for their active support in moving 75-25 provisions forward this session," AAHomecare said. "You can also utilize the upcoming August congressional recess as an opportunity to make a face-to-face appeal to your legislators."

"AAHomecare is all-in for securing HME reimbursement rates that reflect market reality across the full-payer spectrum," AAHomecare said. "Your advocacy on 75/25 relief can help us take a big step forward in that effort. Join the fight!"
