TORRANCE, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2013)—Convaid, Inc., a Torrance-based manufacturer of lightweight, compact-folding, adaptive-assisted wheelchairs, is pleased to announce its alliance with United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA). This announcement marks the initiation of a more formal alliance, although Convaid has supported UCPLA and its efforts for many years.
Convaid will participate in UCPLA volunteer opportunities and donate wheelchairs to children and families in need. Convaid and UCPLA will participate in joint marketing efforts, speaking engagements, and parent conferences and panels, which will educate families living with a special needs child.
“Advocating on behalf of people living with special needs and their families is an important facet of the work we do every day at Convaid, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work together with UCPLA to raise awareness of developmental disabilities,” said Chris Braun, Convaid president. “The alliance between Convaid and UCPLA allows us to deepen our understanding about the unique needs of people living with cerebral palsy (CP), and how Convaid can give these individuals and their families the freedom to do more, and live richer and fuller lives.”
Convaid and UCPLA previously worked together during National Disability Awareness Month (NDAM) with Convaid donating a custom-fitted Convaid Cruiser to a child with cerebral palsy. Visit convaid.com to learn more.
