WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (October 13, 2022)—Trustbridge, a nonprofit hospice provider in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Florida, recently announced a partnership with the leading nurse-first triage service provider, IntellaTriage. IntellaTriage’s partnership will ensure Trustbridge continues to deliver best-in-class care while improving clinician quality of life.
Since 1978, Hospice of Palm Beach County and Hospice by the Sea have cared for 200,000 families in South Florida. These three hospices are now one branch of Trustbridge, a community nonprofit that provides support for families facing serious illness 24 hours a day. Other services include palliative medicine, caregiver support and bereavement programs.
Trustbridge's commitment to providing best-in-class patient care led to the partnership with IntellaTriage. The partnership will be executed in two phases, with the first encompassing after-hours only, followed by a second phase where IntellaTriage will provide 24/7 nurse triage services for Trustbridge.
"When you're waiting to connect to a nurse because you or a loved one is in distress, 15 minutes can feel like 15 hours. We want our patients to be able to speak to a clinician as soon as they determine they need one," said Trustbridge's Chief Operating Officer, Tarrah Lowry. "We see this partnership as necessary support for our patients and a means to lessen our clinicians' workload. As a result, our patients will be well-cared for, and our clinicians will be well-rested and able to be their best selves as they provide care."
IntellaTriage leverages the largest team of registered nurses in the post-acute care market to provide compassionate, round-the-clock care 365 days a year. Utilizing a blend of customized protocols and leading-edge technology, IntellaTriage will implement a tailored approach to ensure patients receive the same high-quality care they have come to expect from Trustbridge. IntellaTriage’s nurse-first model provides caregivers a direct line to trained hospice nurses who operate above and beyond the traditional nonclinical answering service. In addition, IntellaTriage's platform delivers streamlined communications between organizations to provide seamless transitions between their teams to deliver optimal quality care.
"Over the past three years, our team has focused on strengthening existing foundations and operational efficiencies so we can best support large organizations such as Trustbridge Hospice. I feel proud and privileged that our efforts have resulted in the opportunity to provide an optimal patient experience plus relief to on-call staff for an organization such as Trustbridge 24/7,” Daniel Reese, IntellaTriage CEO said. “Industry-wide, it's no secret that nurse burnout and staffing shortages create ripple effects on operations, financial performance, and patient experience. IntellaTriage is a proven solution, and I look forward to continuing our industry support through our partnership with Trustbridge."
