Middle Tennessee Pharmacy Services has acquired a TwelveStone pharmacy, long-term care & “MEDIpack” service lines

MURFREESBORO, Tennessee—Middle Tennessee Pharmacy Services (MTPS), an innovative long-term care (LTC) pharmacy company and member of Guardian Pharmacy Services, announced the acquisition of the LTC and “MEDIpack” service lines from TwelveStone Health Partners, a provider of comprehensive chronic care medication services. With this acquisition, MTPS aims to better serve residents in assisted living, skilled nursing and behavioral health communities, as well as individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and outpatient consumers throughout Tennessee, Southern Kentucky and Northern Alabama.

Russ Spivey and David Brown, who co-founded MTPS in 2005, have made efforts to steadily increase its footprint over the past 19 years. They opened Guardian Mid-South Pharmacy in Memphis in 2012 and launched East Tennessee Pharmacy Services in Knoxville in 2013. The latest expansion aims to increase the company’s total customer base by 17%. The newly acquired pharmacy, located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, will continue to operate as TwelveStone, and all employees will join the MTPS team.

"We share TwelveStone’s commitment to exceptional customer service and care, and we're excited to build on their strong reputation serving senior living residents in the region," said Spivey. "This acquisition enhances our ability to better serve LTC communities across Tennessee, areas in Kentucky and Alabama, and we look forward to integrating TwelveStone's talented team into our operations."

Shane Reeves and Rick Sain co-founded TwelveStone in an effort to provide the state of Tennessee with specialties in retail pharmacy, compounding, respiratory, infusion therapy, home medical equipment, immunizations, diabetic care, LTC pharmacy and MEDIpack, which offers pharmacy services to patients with chronic conditions. Additionally, the acquisition aims to provide TwelveStone with the ability to focus on its infusion services business growth in 21 centers across the southeast, including Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
