SPARTANBURG, S.C. (August 8, 2017)—QS/1 continues its effort to not only improve the health of our pharmacies’ patients, but also protect their sensitive financial information. With growing concerns of credit card data being compromised on merchant networks, QS/1 is proud to meet the stringent guidelines of the Qualified Integrators and Resellers (QIR) Program. This Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) qualification details the procedures for a secure installation and continued maintenance of payment application systems.
“Research has proven that installations not done correctly can open the door for networks to be compromised,” said Chris Lewis QS/1 manager of Systems Development. “QS/1 integrators are PCI-certified under the QIR program to install, configure and maintain payment systems, like QS/1’s point-of-sale.”
This certification gives pharmacies assurance knowing they are meeting regulatory requirements to protect consumer credit card data. QS/1 staff members have undergone extensive training and testing to achieve this highly coveted certification in the industry. QS/1 currently has scores of staff members with the three-year certification.
“QS/1 has a history of leading the way in pharmacy point-of-sale technology,” said Saul Factor, QS/1 president. “With network breaches at an all-time high last year, we want to ensure we stay ahead by taking every step possible to protect our customers and those they serve by reducing the risk of a security breach.”
QS/1 offered the first pharmacy point-of-sale system and continues to be the industry leader in innovation and security. Maintaining the QIR certification further shows QS/1’s commitment to providing the highest standards in point-of-sale technology and service.
