OAKVILLE, Ontario (February 17, 2017)—Officials with VGM Canada announced today that Doug Kerr will be joining the company beginning February 13, 2017.
Kerr will serve as the Director of Member and Supplier Relations and will be responsible for expanding the offerings provided by VGM to both providers and suppliers of home medical equipment.
“Having been in the industry for over 37 years, Doug has a true understanding of what our members are looking for to help their businesses succeed,” said Dave Davies, vice president of VGM Canada. “His knowledge of day to day operational issues and managing a salesforce, along with a keen ability to drive profitability, will be just a sampling of the information he can share with our members.”
Since 1979, Kerr has worked in both the retail and manufacturing sectors. He started in customer service at one of North America’s first home health companies, Doncaster Medical. Throughout the years he co-founded several companies including Motion Specialties, Tarsys Engineering, Genus Medical, Motion Concepts, Quart Healthcare and Raz Design. In terms of history with VGM, Kerr also founded The Motion Group, which was acquired by VGM in 2003. Most recently, Kerr ended his tenure as executive vice president of Motion Specialties, where he had been since co-founding in 1985, steering the company through its acquisition in 2012 and finally leaving at the end of 2014.
