Waterloo, Iowa—VGM Group announced the promotion of Barry Thwaits to executive vice president of customer success with VGM & Associates. In this newly created role, Thwaits will continue developing a long-term vision for coordinated communication and strategies to help VGM’s customers scale their business. This includes aligning services across sales teams to create a seamless customer experience for home medical equipment (HME) providers.

“VGM has an ongoing responsibility to our members and partners to provide the highest levels of problem solving and innovation to keep our customers ahead of the market,” said Lindy Tentinger, president of VGM & Associates. “Barry's experience both at VGM and previously in the industry positions us for the changing landscape our members and partners are facing.”

Thwaits joined VGM in 2022 and most recently served as senior vice president of business development for VGM & Associates. He brings experience in global account management and strategic sales growth from his previous roles at Philips’ Medical, Sleep & Home Respiratory; Nanowave Air, a division of Dynamics; Ebb Therapeutics; Verustat/Sleep 8; Inova Labs and Philips Respironics.

“VGM’s position in the marketplace and our future growth requires us to look at business differently for our providers, to show them the future and the roadmap to success,” said VGM Group CEO Jeremy Stolz. “Barry is perfect for this role, and we are fortunate to have an industry expert like him leading our customer success initiatives.”

Thwaits’ promotion is part of VGM’s continued commitment to enhancing customer experience and creating opportunities for growth. In the coming months, VGM will also look for a corporate account executive with substantial experience in the HME industry to join Thwaits’ team.

“I’m honored to be part of this team and a company that is so dedicated to promoting and supporting the HME industry,” Thwaits said. “Nearly everyone at some point in their lives will need to rely on HME. What we do as an industry matters. It’s why I’ve built my career here. And I’m excited to continue helping our providers to offer the highest quality of care.”
