WATERLOO, Iowa (December 6, 2018)—VGM has announced changes to its wound care offerings with the rebrand of Wound Care Connection to VGM Wound Care.
With the new name and look, VGM Wound Care offers additional tools and resources to support those currently offering wound care products or looking at breaking into the market.
“Skin care and wound care affects each and every one of the patients HME providers work with,” said Heather Trumm, BSN, RN, CWON, director of VGM Wound Care. “Our expanded program can help VGM members effectively offer wound care products and services to fulfill patients’ needs, all while developing another revenue stream to increase business.”
Categories of wound care covered in the program include dressings, therapeutic support surfaces, negative pressure wound therapy, ostomy, compression and nutrition. Each category will have support materials covering billing, incremental growth products, policies, education materials, vendor list and profitability calculator, to name a few.
“Heather and the VGM Wound Care team have developed a robust program to help our members plan and effectively run their wound care business,” stated Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates. “With her drive and clinical expertise, coupled with support from our vendor partners, the time is right to consider diversifying product selection and incorporating wound care into providers’ product mix.”
As director of the program, Trumm looks forward to using her past nursing experience to help educate members in caring for patients with wounds. Prior to launching the rebrand, she has been sharing her expertise at trade shows, seminars and webinars. She has also developed a wound care manual to help providers train their staff.
“I truly enjoy talking about the importance of proper wound care and how to integrate clinical resources with business solutions to manage an effective program,” mentioned Trumm. “Now that we’ve formally launched the expanded program, I look forward to continuing to share my knowledge with our membership community.”
