Atlanta Kevin M. Gaffney, CEM, and Seth Johnson are the newest members of HomeCare's Editorial Advisory Board.
With nearly 20 years of experience in association management, Gaffney currently serves as group show director for the Medtrade and Medtrade Spring trade shows produced by Nielsen Business Media. In this role, he is responsible for managing all day-to-day operations of the premier trade shows.
“As providers and manufacturers of home medical equipment face multiple challenges regarding the current economic and regulatory environment, I am committed to ensuring the Medtrade brand offers the appropriate and necessary resources they need to be successful,” Gaffney said.
Johnson is vice president of government affairs for Pride Mobility Products Corp., Exeter, Pa. Based in Washington, D.C., Johnson is also the current vice chair of the American Association for Homecare's Rehab and Assistive Technology Council. He was an initial member of CMS' Program Advisory and Oversight Committee, charged with providing guidance on the implementation of competitive bidding.
Regarding the agency's current push to relaunch the bidding program, Johnson said, “A lot has changed since the rule was published, and I'm optimistic we can work with the new administration to find a way to stop competitive bidding.”
