With 60 exhibits of women's health care products and educational courses on management, sales and marketing, group purchasing organization Essentially Women hosted its 8th annual conference and trade show, Focus on the Future, in Albuquerque, N.M., in April. The show is set for March 30-April 1 in Charleston, S.C., in 2009.
Covidien and Sleep Pointe are driving education on sleep apnea — literally. As part of the “Unite to Treat Sleep Apnea” initiative, traveling sleep labs like this one, inside a 53-foot trailer, will be stationed at truck stops across the country. Approximately 28 percent of commercial truck drivers are affected by sleep apnea, the companies said, and without treatment, they are up to seven times more likely to be involved in an accident.
