WASHINTON, D.C. (April 29, 2020)—As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to stress communities in much of the nation, third-party payers and state Medicaid officials are developing new policy guidance to allow health care providers to provide effective care and operate more safely under challenging conditions. HME policy recommendations that the American Association for Homecare developed have been adopted to varying degrees by these payers, and new guidance is being issued on a regular basis.
AAHomecare has created a new online Third-Party Payer & MCO Tracking resource collecting these policy changes from major third-party payers and making them available in both spreadsheet form and through an easily accessed scrollable format on the main page.
Payers currently covered include: Aetna – Anthem (updated 4/24) – Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association – Carecentrix-Cigna Core Business – Carecentrix-Cigna NALC – Carecentrix-Cigna PSG – Carecentrix-Cigna Shared Admin/Alliance – Carecentrix-Florida Blue – Centene – Excellus BCBS (new 4/24) – Humana – Molina Healthcare of Michigan (new 4/24) – UnitedHealthCare
The new Third-Party Payer & MCO Tracking page joins an online compendium of state Medicaid COVID-19 provider resources and Medicaid waivers and AAHomecare’s comprehensive COVID-19 Resources & Guidance page as go-to information sources for the HME community during the pandemic.
The association will continue to coordinate with industry stakeholders and state/regional association partners to engage third-party payers and state Medicaid and health officials to advocate for broader adoption policies that will help the HME community make a strong contribution to alleviating the impacts of this pandemic.
