MIAMI—AltroCare Inc., a Miami-based and woman-owned diversity supplier of health products for women, announced a distribution expansion with a range of products for home medical equipment (HME) stores and independent pharmacies. AltroCare has been selling postpartum and antepartum products, such as fetal monitor suppliers, to OB/GYN offices and hospitals since 2018. The company added a line of postpartum and post-surgery products to its portfolio in 2020. With this new distribution expansion, the company aims to join the HME market by providing a range of retail products in HME stores that are aimed at meeting women’s health needs.
“Postpartum and post-surgical care for women is an increasingly popular and profitable sector for HME providers around the country,” said Sylvie Vanhuylenbroeck, founder and president of AltroCare. “Many of our compression products, such as our bestselling abdominal binder, are FDA-listed and FSA or HSA eligible. They may also be covered by insurance.”
AltroCare intends to offer HME stores a range of USA-made products for women, including products for after childbirth. Additionally, the company plans to offer products that support in post-surgery care, such C-section, hysterectomy, liposuction, tummy tuck, gastroplasty, hernia repair and ostomy surgery.
“Our motto is ‘Get better soon,’ and it reflects our focus on quality, user friendliness and helping women that are recovering from childbirth or surgery take charge of their health outcomes,” Vanhuylenbroeck said. “By working with us, HME stores can add a profitable line to their assortment and serve their patients by offering clinically supported, superior products that will allow them to compete better with online retailers.”
The company said it will be showcasing its new products at Medtrade 2025 (booth 559) in Dallas, Texas, from Wednesday, Feb. 19 through Thursday, Feb. 20.
