Bayada will serve as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s local presenting sponsor for the second consecutive year

PHILADELPHIA—Bayada Home Health Care, a nonprofit home health care provider, will join the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Philadelphia, presented by the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, as its local presenting sponsor for the second year in a row. Bayada served as the Philadelphia walk's local presenting sponsor in 2023, in which the organization formed 58 teams that collectively helped raise more than $62,000 in support of the walk. This year, Bayada aims to establish 60 teams with 600 participants, as well as to reach a fundraising total of $75,000.

“The dedication and support from Bayada, and from Tom Cassidy, significantly aid those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia,” said Meg DiPanni, vice president of development for the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. “Across the country, corporate support is crucial for ensuring resources and connections are available to our local communities, particularly for the Walk the End Alzheimer’s. Bayada and its employees care deeply about the impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia on individuals, families and communities; as such, they continue to support the walk and our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all forms of dementia.”

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s Philadelphia will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9. On walk day, participants can honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with through the promise garden ceremony—a mission-focused experience that aims to present solidarity in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Additionally, the colors of the promise garden flowers intend to represent people’s connection to Alzheimer’s and their personal reasons to end the disease.

“My family has been affected twice by advanced dementia, and we understand the toll it takes on those diagnosed and their loved ones,” said Tom Cassidy, division director at Bayada and chair of the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Community board of excellence. “At Bayada Home Health Care, over a third of the seniors served by our teams are affected by Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s offers Bayada a crucial opportunity to support our partner, the Alzheimer’s Association, and to involve our employees, clients and their families in this important cause within the communities we serve.”
