OWINGS MILLS, Md. (April 30, 2020)—To help DMEPOS professionals enhance their careers while social distancing, the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) announces a new remote proctored testing option. BOC certification candidates can complete their certification exams from the safety of their homes or offices beginning in early June 2020. This COVID-sensitive testing option is a joint offering from BOC and its exam delivery partner, PSI.
BOC’s Credentialing Director Matthew Gruskin, MBA, BOCO, BOCPD, said BOC planned to add remote proctored testing as an option later in 2020, but due to the temporary closure of many testing centers as a result of COVID-19, the project was fast-tracked to meet the needs of BOC’s current and prospective customers.
“At BOC, one of our core values is customer centricity,” said Gruskin. “We want the DMEPOS community to know that completing career development goals is possible, even in our ‘new normal.’ With this option for the Certified Orthotic Fitter (COF), Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) and Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) exams, certification candidates can advance their careers in a COVID-sensitive way and earn credentials that support them in their goal of quality patient care.”
The addition of remote proctored testing complements BOC’s approval for 100% virtual preparatory education and demonstrates a commitment to enabling certification candidates to achieve their credentialing goals.
